One of the first projects I was tasked with working on was horoscopes for Instagram. One of those “this product is for Aquarius for this and this reason” type of things. In case you wanted to know what type of fries you are based on your astrological sign, the Internet has the answer.

I decided to push further and create illustrative gifs with each horoscope. The team loved them! Check them out as they are released at the start of each astrological season @alternahaircare.

the process

The project started with just creating a comparison chart for each astrological sign but it grew to much more. Below is some of my process work to how I arrived at this solution.

These first few looks gave a basic layout to where each product would sit, even including places for explanations for each product.

My boss and mentor, Reese, gave me advice to always give a “hop, leap and a skip”, which I took to heart. This next round I pushed myself to something I didn’t necessarily think the team would go for but tried anyways.

The final push to add motion and embrace the illustrative path made this one of my favorite projects during this internship!
